FERMACELL gypsum fibre boards are produced from natural raw materials under very high pressure - which makes them a very stable and healthy building material. Products from FERMACELL are suitable for old and new buildings, from the cellar to the roof. Their low weight and accurate size allow for easy handling. FERMACELL is the original gypsum fibre board.
The gypsum fibreboard
FERMACELL is made from gypsum and paper fibre produced by recycling paper. These two natural raw materials are mixed together and then compressed with water – no other binders – under high pressure to form robust boards which are subsequently dried, impregnated with a water-repellent agent and cut to the required formats. Due to the composition of materials, FERMACELL board is ideal for building, fire protection and use in damp conditions, all in one.
Water activates the gypsum so that it penetrates and encloses the fibres. This gives FERMACELL boards their high stability and resistance to fire.
FERMACELL building board HD (Powerpanel HD)
Powerpanel HD is a cement-based, glass-fibre reinforced sandwich board containing lightweight aggregates. The FERMACELL Powerpanel HD owes its relatively low weight to the low bulk density of the granulated swelling clay and recycled foam glass granulate used as aggregates. Despite its lightness, however, the board is highly resistant to pressure and flexion due to the combination of foam glass granulate used as aggregate and glass-fibre reinforcement of the two outer layers. To protect the board against capillary absorption of water while at the same time maintaining its permeability for water vapour, the outer layer of the board is produced with a water-repellent volume finish. The water-repellent agent protects the walls of the pores created in the board by the aggregate structure with a wafer-thin layer to produce a durably water-repellent effect.
FERMACELL Powerpanel is made up of mineral materials and therefore does not contain any inflammable constituents.
